Surely an overtime bonus is headed the way of Osborne (Sydney Thunder) and Leys (Sydney Sixers) after a match where the scores were level on 138 at the end of 20 overs, then the Super Over.
Thunder claimed victory by virtue of hitting more boundaries throughout the match.
Osborne, who claimed 1-31 in three overs with the ball, was at the crease when the scores finished tied the first time on five not out.
That sent the match to the Super Over where the Thunder posted 1-8, a total equalled by the Sixers despite losing three wickets, with Osborne taking a catch to dismiss Ellyse Perry and then running out Angela Reakes.
Leys did not bat or bowl for the top-ranked Sixers.
The victory keeps the Thunder’s hopes of sealing a finals berth alive, with the green machine now two points adrift of fourth.
