Barton clobbered 73 in concert with Lachlan Bradfield (56) as Tamworth made 5-205 from their 40 overs.
“He batted really well. He batted with a little bit more patience and timed it well,” coach Clive Barton said.
He said they made sure they had wickets in hand and with about 14 to go really “pushed the button”.
They then had a couple of shaky moments but ended up restricting Roseville to 9-191.
“I thought we bowled alright. Our fielding let us down a couple of times,” Barton said.
(Lachie) Barton and Bradfield backed up their exploits with the bat with wickets, Barton picking up two and Bradfield one. Kyle Jennings and Alex Roseby also snared two wickets, while James Austin completed a great carnival with 1-31.
He was “excellent” over the four days, Barton said.
