Chief organiser Greg Kellett is hoping that the new addition to the Tamworth cricketing landscape attracts plenty of new faces to join the old ones that are already playing.
The Friday night hit-out is being used as a lead in to the first Over 50s State Championships to be held in Port Macquarie at the end of February, with Tamworth already naming two sides for the competition after Tamworth bred Test bowlers John Gleeson and Josh Hazlewood.
“A number of ex first grade players have put their hand up to have a game including backed up by a few older gentlemen in Barry Everingham, Denby Budden, Bede Maher and Steve Massey just to name a few,” Kellett said.
Anyone interested in a game should turn up at No 1 Oval at 5pm for a game or just to watch, or alternately join the guys at training in the Chaffey Park nets at 5pm on Wednesdays.
