The money has come from Council’s Stronger Communities Grants program; a one-off allocation from the State Government.
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall said the funding will “benefit the whole community”.
The Polar Bears will receive $11,323 in funding support towards work to enclose the existing club area with roller doors and lockable entry and build a new lockable storage area.
“There are 60 to 70 members in the Polar Bears and because of the climate there’s just six months for the kids to be coached to competitive levels so it’s great that that is all being achieved without having to travel away.”
