The series is a new addition to the clubs calendar this year and has drawn interest from far and wide.
“It’s a series we’ve put together,” Tamworth Motorcycle Club’s Paul Slade said.
“Normally we don’t do much much during the summer.”
But because of the number of young riders in the club and people expressing interest in having a ride, the club decided to introduce the summer series.
It will be held over three rounds, the first of which will be Saturday, and Slade admits he “is a bit dumbfounded” by the response.
“We’ve got a fairly big turnout,” Slade said.
“We’ve got around 120-125 riders.”
And from all over – Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour.
Racing gets underway at Oakburn Park at 5pm and will include everything from nippers to pee wees, to ladies and sidecars, and “Bushies”.
It’s a new class they’ve introduced.
“It’s a senior class for enduro type riders,” Slade said.
“The Pony Express boys that ride in the bush, we’ve had a few of those turning up at our club days.”
“We’re actually going to run a Pony express four hour enduro out at Oakburn Park in late May/June.”
Gates open at 1pm on Saturday with entry $10 per car.
