Teachers will get a 2.5 per cent pay rise for the next three years. Is that enough for the people educating our next generation?
They need a pay rise AND extra RFF time to be able to plan more effective lessons that cover the new curriculum standards whilst catering to the million needs of parents, whoops, I meant kids, needs of kids. Plus the differentiation of said curriculum.

Maybe the curriculum needs to be trimmed of all the fat, maybe then our children won't be slipping behind countries like Kazakhstan.

It amazes me the amount of time that school children appear to be out of school for sport. I acknowledge that I am ancient but when I went to school sport was a weekend exercise, even inter school competitions were conducted on a weekend, we got there ourselves on public transport if parents were not able to drive us. If more time was spent in the classroom and not on the sporting fields, maybe the education levels would be improved..

They deserve more. Since my Daughter has moved from QLD curriculum to NSW from April 2015 to now. Her grades have improved 150%. She's also happier at school. I have Teachers in my Family and the amount of their own money they use is unbelievable.

As a parent, isn't it our job to work with the teachers when our children's behaviour escalates? It's not their job to be able to 'control' our kids. When children have no respect for a teachers instructions and distract the teacher from 'teaching' kids who genuinely want to learn, then it is a parent’s role to ensure the children learn such respect.
Maybe looking a little closer to home instead of blaming the teachers will help yourself, the teacher and you're child. This is from a mother with a child that has behavioural issues and I mean no disrespect, with the right tools and attitude the behaviours can be reduced. 😊
