Tamworth enters the round in equal-second place alongside Armidale while Gunnedah is equal-fourth with Glen Innes in the seven-team competition.
Gunnedah had a seven-wicket loss to Armidale and a 140-run loss to ladder leaders Gwydir, before thrashing Moree by nine wickets but will have to be on their game this week if they want to knock off the favourites and competition heavyweights.
Gunnedah skipper Blake Small hoped that his team’s win over Moree was a case of turning a corner.
“Hopefully we can go on with it now,”
The make-up of Gunnedah’s team for Sunday is partly unknown although Small, Troy Sands, Izaak Merlehan, Vinnie Winsor and Trent Lumby are expected to back up from the win over Moree.
First ball at 10am.
