Following it’s successful opening around Australia last year, Peppa Pig Live! Big Splash is back by popular demand and it’s stopping off at the Tamworth Capitol Theatre on Saturday, December 10.
With the popularity of the little pink pig is stronger than ever in Australia, Peppa Pig is the most watched kids show on Australian TV, seen daily by 250,000 viewers.
Peppa Pig returns to the stage with bigger puppets and brilliant sing-a- long songs from BAFTA award-winning composer Mani Svavarsson.
In Peppa Pig Live! Big Splash, the nursery roof is leaking and Peppa and her friends need to fix it quickly.
They set up a fete to raise the money for Mr Bull to do the repairs. There’s plenty of fun to be had as Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig, as well as Danny Dog, Pedro Pony and Suzy Sheep put up bunting, run stalls and organise a great day out.
There’s also a Champion Puddle Jumping competition judged by Mr Potato where everyone gets wet and Peppa needs to find her Golden Boots.
Organisers have labelled it another all-singing, all-dancing adventure full of songs, games and muddy puddles is guaranteed for all the family.
Producer Theresa Borg said the she believed children in Tamworth would have a great time at the show.
“Peppa Pig is equivalent to a child in the playground, she is everyone’s favourite and all the kids want to be her best friend,” she said.
“She is confident, adventurous and unafraid of asking questions, and all those children like to have a friend like Peppa.”
Ms Borg said the production enjoyed visiting rural areas and believed children in regional Australia “deserve access to arts like children in capital cities.”
“I’ve performed in Tamworth myself and Tamworth is well known as having a musical population,” she said
”The great thing about Peppa Pig is it is great for the whole family, the humour is very dry and the adults in the family identity with the situations the pig family find themselves in on an everyday basis.
“It’s celebrating the humour of the everyday, there’s lots of singing and dancing and jumping with Peppa – parents and carers can look forward to the little people in their charge, just smiling.
“We want to say thank you to Tamworth for having us and to buy tickets and enjoy because we want to come back next year.”
Ms Borg urged parents and kids to bring along their gumboots for the show.
“If you’re jumping in muddy puddles, you must wear boots,” The producer said.
