In the under 12 tussle at McAndrew Park, Tamworth tallied 163 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 40 overs after being in strife at 4-30.
Ben Livingston scored 55 at number six, having hit fours from three consecutive balls to go from 42 to 54, while Eoin Shepherd made 33 at second drop.
None of the home side’s players could score more than three as Gunnedah crumbled for 26 which included 11 sundries.
Shepherd had 3-2, as did Deni Baker, with Gunnedah lasting 26 overs minus one delivery.
At Longmuir Oval, Jack Hamilton scored 62 at number three while Callum Henry and Max Delaney made 30s as Tamworth Gold’s under 14s compiled 8-201.
“Our aim was to bat the 50 overs, and we did that,” coach Damian Henry said.
Henry deemed that the pitch was “playing a bit low” which was a good challenge for the players, and that they stuck to the task.
The hosts were never in the hunt during the run chase as they tallied 58 in 25.2 overs.
Tarlan Ward was Gold’s best bowler with 4-10.
At Kitchener Park, Tamworth Gold’s under 16s flopped for 35 in 19 overs before the hosts achieved the target in a mere four overs without the loss of a wicket.
Hayden Baker claimed the last five wickets in Gold’s innings, including the last three in five balls, after Isaac Harris and Jono Crowe did the early damage.
Crowe subsequently blasted a quickfire 34 not out.
