The Michelle Fleming-trained eight-year-old gelding son of Dash For Cash, perfectly ridden by Darren Jones, trailed Minute Silence and Our Minaan throughout but popped out in the straight under Jones’ sure hands to overpower both rivals for his sixth career win.
Fleming was a delighted trainer and majority owner.
“It’s exciting, a nice little Christmas bonus,” she said while saddling up Mon’s Gal.
“That’s his first win this prep although he did win at Coonamble. He’s been consistent and I thought he deserved that today too. He’s been knocking on the door and only got beaten .4 of a length at Inverell by Kingston Time last start.”
While a “naughty” boy he’s one of her favourites.
“He’s my baby. I ride him in all his work. But he can be naughty but he’s more of a character, really playful,” Fleming said.
