FIRST-INNINGS points were the order of the day in Gunnedah first grade cricket on Saturday as Albion and the Kookaburras gained the points on offer without being able to force an outright victory.

The run chase in the Court House versus Albion match was always going to be interesting as Albion began day two on 1-14 and needed a further 147 runs.
This contest was moved to McAndrew Park due to a junior athletics carnival being staged at Wolseley Park, and Court House missed five first-choice players.
With captain Matt Brady and strike bowlers Farran Lamb and Ben Irwin among the missing brigade, the depleted Court House line-up had Albion nine wickets down with the total at 157 before James Mack struck a boundary with the last ball before tea.
Andrew Wright scored a vital 69 for Albion before he was dismissed three runs shy of Court House’s total.
Albion increased its lead to 31 before the last wicket fell, and Court House tallied 7-182 in its second innings.
At Kitchener Park, Mornington was forced to follow on after flopping from 1-71 to 117 all out in reply to the Kookaburras’ total of 222.
Brad Jenkinson claimed six wickets in Mornington’s first innings before he claimed another two in the second innings, with Mornington finishing at 6-62 from 34 overs.
