The success continued for Armidale Athletics club when they took to the track at the NSW Athletics Relay Championships in Blacktown.
The club sent 20 athletes to the meet on November 26 and 27 with nearly 30 races ran among them.
The most successful were the under 20 women’s teams who secured four medals over the weekend.
The girls’ first medal came in the 4x400 metre event with Gracie Martin, Grace Cassidy, Natasha Favotto and Kelsie Youman running their way to bronze.
Cassidy, Youman and Favotto teamed up with young gun Anastasia Martin to run in the club’s 4x800 metre gold medal winning team.
Favotto, Martin, Kate Bailey and Glen Innes’ Mikielee Snow snagged a silver in the 4x200 metre event.
The women’s 4x100 team of Snow, Martin, Bailey and Favotto also picked up bronze.
Armidale Athletics club president and coach Jay Stone also raced at the event and said his athletes were impressive against some tough competition.
"A lot of those girls have come back from Fiji and competed at All Schools and they are getting ready for a big summer as well,” he said.
“The girls' teams definitely performed quite well and that was pleasing to see as a coach of the whole squad.
"The boys did quite well. [It was] very tough competition, especially in the men's opens, my team were up against Olympians so to come fourth in the state we were pretty happy with that.”
The club meet at Harris Park next Wednesday evening for the next round of their super series.
