A TAMWORTH man has been refused bail charged in connection to a violent robbery in the early hours of Monday.

Police said a 40-year-old man was approached outside a Robert St home about 1.20am by a 38-year-old man.
Investigators allege the man grabbed a gold chain around the victim’s neck and the punched him in the face, causing a small cut.
The 40-year-old gave chase when the man fled but lost sight of him.
A short time later, the victim was allegedly approached by the same offender in Garden St.
Police allege the offender was armed with a metal object and struck the victim.
The 40-year-old suffered cuts and abrasions and managed to regain his footing and took off, and alerted police.
Oxley detectives launched an investigation, and following inquiries, arrested a 38-year-old man in Bourne St about 9.30am on Tuesday.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery.
He’s been refused bail to appear in court.
