“John is an elite coach having coached Sri Lanka and the West Indies in recent years so it’s fantastic that we have him on board for this year’s camp,” Brown said.
Dyson has a highest test score of 127* in 1982 against the West Indies at the SCG. He toured England in 1981, and made another superb century at Headingley before Ian Botham's heroics. Dyson was also prolific for NSW amassing 9935 runs at an average of 40, with a top score of 241.
He will be joined by Ray Bright, who played 25 Tests for Australia taking 53 wickets with best figures of 7/87 against Pakistan in 1980. Bright is a state selector for Victoria and has an abundance of knowledge about all aspects of the game.
“It’s great to have Ray back on board this year, as he has a great understanding of the game and interacts well with the younger generation,” Brown said..
The camp will be held in Tamworth at Tamworth South Public School on Wednesday and Thursday January 11 and 12 from 9am to 3pm each day.
“Our aim with the clinics is to provide an excellent learning experience for enthusiastic cricketers between the ages of 6 to 16. Our program covers all facets of cricket, T20, one day, and Test formats. All aimed at improving participant’s skills, knowledge and enjoyment of the game,” Brown said.
