The Tamworth Regional Playground will celebrate its first birthday this weekend with a big bash planned.
Locals are invited to join in the party on Sunday, December 4 with entertainment, children’s activities including Giant Jenga and Connect Four and much more.
The entire community is invited to come along, with children urged to dress as their favourite character.
Opened in December 2015, the $2.2 million project is the only recreational facility of its kind between Newcastle and Brisbane.
The playground is separated into zones to suit toddlers, juniors and seniors.
It includes a bike-track, junior and senior fitness circuits, embankment slides, dual flying fox, sandpit, spinner, wheelchair-accessible carousel, mammoth swing and climbing equipment.
Sensory experiences including a ‘splash pad’, a rhythm wall, Touchwood Totems and a 3D climbing experience are spread throughout the playground.
The big event will kick off at 4pm with locals invited to head down to the park and check it out.
