The theme, chosen by the United Nations for 2016 is: Achieving 17 goals for the future we want.
To explore this theme, there will be a free barbecue lunch for all members of the community at the Tamworth Community Centre next Wednesday, November 30, from 10am to 2pm with music by Country Music and radio star Ryan Sampson and a visit from Santa on a Harley.
Spokesperson Lorraine Legge said the event was “truly lucky” to have so much support from the local community.
“Ryan Sampson will be performing at this event again and has supported the disability community at other events throughout the year,” she said. “Santa on a Harley will be making another appearance.”
Ms Legge said this year has been a big year for the disability sector with the roll out of the NDIS.
“It has provided some unique challenges for people with disability, their families and carers,” she said. “We look forward to joining together as a community to celebrate our achievements.”
