PEEL Street’s latest restaurant is stepping up to the plate to help fight world poverty.
Zambreros will donate a meal to someone in the developing world for every burito bought at its Peel Street restaurant.
“It’s our ‘Plate 4 Plate’ initiative,” regional NSW development agent Fadi Barsoum said.
“Zambrero has a commitment to end world hunger, which is the heart and soul of the business.”

The restaurant opened its doors on November 16 and has seating for 60 patrons.
“We have 23 staff on board but we need more, especially shift supervisors who are over the age of 18,” Mr Barsoum said.
So far the chain restaurant, which opened in Canberra in 2005 by Sam Prince, has donated nearly 11.5 million meals worldwide.
A number of other city businesses are reporting solid trade at this time of year.

“We had feedback that many Asian residents had to go to either Sydney or Brisbane for their special goods, so we decided to open a supermarket catering for them, as well as Aussies,” Mr Nguyen said.
All tastes are catered for, including Filipino, Malaysian, Korean, Singaporean and Vietnamese. A speciality is the range of sauces and marinades on offer, “all terrific and authentic flavours”.
