TWO people were caught drink driving in Tamworth at the weekend, with one of the drivers testing more than four times the legal limit.
About 8.20pm on Saturday, police saw a white Holden station wagon driving along Peel St.
The male driver was stopped for a RBT.
He returned a positive result, was arrested and taken to the Tamworth police station for a further breath analysis.
He returned a reading of 0.214 which resulted in his licence being suspended and a charge of a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA).
Earlier that day, about 7.30am, police had been conducting RBTs on Jewry St and a white van was stopped and its male driver was subjected to a tests.
He returned a positive result and was arrested for a further breath analysis.
He returned a reading of 0.059 and was charged with a low range PCA.
A Tamworth Regional Council truck also suffered a minor mishap on Goonoo Goonoo Rd on Saturday morning.
About 9.45am, at the Goonoo Goonoo Rd and Wilburtree St roundabout, the council truck lost a load of its mud on the busy main road.
Police spent about 45 minutes at the scene, controlling traffic, while council staff cleaned up the spill.
