While donations are welcome, staff have reported an increase in people dropping off donated goods outside of business hours and volunteers later find them stolen or damaged when they return to work.
Salvation Army officials have urged community members to take advantage of their pick up service, which can pick up small bags to bric-a-brac, or even furniture from your home.
Items that are damaged or broken are unable to be accepted by The Family Store due to occupational health and safety guidelines, along with baby items such as cots and prams.
