The phone provider’s management has put the rolling disruptions down to upgrades in Manilla, which will provide 4GX services to customers in town.
“We wish to apologise for the interruptions to mobile services that our customers in Manilla have been experiencing,” Telstra area general manager Mike Marom said.
Mr Marom said Telstra should have better communicated with its Manilla customers.
“Unfortunately the works project that was being undertaken on the tower took longer than expected and we understand we should have better informed the community of what was taking place,” he said.
“The project is nearing completion and all services have been restored. No further extended outages are expected.
“We have introduced 4GX services for Manilla. This means increased capacity for the local mobile network, giving locals improved and more consistent data speeds and providing long-term benefits for the community.”
