Tame, in his Olympic debut, won bronze in the K2 1000m with his partner and Olympic champion sprint kayaker Ken Wallace in August this year.
He described winning an Olympic medal as a “thrill” and is looking forward to talking about his experiences at the awards night.
“I'm looking forward to the night in Tamworth and sharing a little bit about my unique story of the Olympics and how it evolved for me,” Tame said.
A total of 65 nominees are in the running for the 2016 Tamworth Regional Sports Awards – more than double the number of nominees last year.
The 2016 Tamworth Regional Sports Awards night will be at the Frog and Toad Function Centre on Goonoo Goonoo Road, South Tamworth on Friday 25 November at 6pm. Tickets go on sale on Monday at the Sports Dome and Ray Walsh House.
