Tamworth’s Pink Ribbon Gala Ball is on again this year in aid of raising awareness and vital funds for Breast and Gynaecological Cancer research and support services, including in our area.
The ball will be held at the Tamworth Jockey Club on Saturday, November 5 and is now in its second year.
Event organiser Doug Selems is hoping the special evening would be another great success.
“In 2015 the inaugural Pink Ribbon Gala Ball was held with the anticipation of raising awareness of women’s cancers and making a contribution to the great work Cancer Council NSW does to support research and support services,” Mr Selems said.
“It was such a fantastic evening last year and so well supported by the community we, just had to make it an annual event.”
Kate Dubois, Cancer Council community relations coordinator, said fundraising for causes such as women’s cancers was vital to helping those in need of support, especially those in the local area.
“Locally, Cancer Council NSW operates Inala house and supports the Tamworth Breast Cancer support group. These are both vital services for local women, as they undergo cancer treatment and as part of their recovery after treatment,” she said.
“Funds raised from Pink events such as the Pink Ribbon Gala Ball are so important to keep these wonderful services and many others just like these going.”
The Pink Ribbon Gala Ball will include an evening of fun and entertainment with live music, great food, special guest speakers Dr Jennifer May AM and Shaen Fraser the coordinator of Cancer Council’s Accommodation service Inala House, and an auction with all proceeds going to support Cancer Council NSW.
Tickets for the big event are on sale now for $140 per person or $1300 for a table. They can be purchased by contacting Doug Selems on 0422 444 729 or by email doug.selems@century21.com.au.
