The senior (years 9 and 10) boys and girls both hit the finals, and both were unlucky not to come home with the silverware after sterling efforts on the court.
The boys finished runners-up, taking the silver medal away, after just falling short in the grand final to St Doms Kingswood after playing their way to the final with some great basketball and team work on the court.
The girls played their way into the semifinal with that same fighting spirit, but couldn’t quiet match their Woolongong based opponents, who went on to take out the tournament.
The McCarthy girls didn’t come home empty handed however, going on to take out the bronze medal match to cap off a great effort.
Unfortunately the junior boys and girls teams (years 7 and 8) didn’t get a shot at the finals, although didn’t leave anything in the tank during the round games and will be better for it next year.
