October is ‘mental health month’ and the nurses are hoping to share some simple tips to help people in the community stress less and unwind.
The students from the University of New England (UNE) are encouraged to drive health promotion during their time at the Coledale Health and Education Centre.
UNE student facilitator Kristi Latimore said the day would be used to share “tools for people to reduce stress”.
“It’s also about helping to create awareness of the services that are available,” Ms Latimore said.
The day’s events will run from 10am to 12 and will include a free barbecue and relaxing activities such as meditation, tai chi and flower potting. There will also be live entertainment.
