Accident closes highway
THE New England Highway was closed for about 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoon after an accident involving a car and a scooter.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed the scooter driver, a man, was treated on scene before he was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with minor injuries about 2.30pm.
Police also responded to the incident, which closed Armidale Road, East Tamworth.
It was re-opened by about 3pm.
