It was a huge achievement to even make it to last week’s stage, as there were more than 400 teams at the start of the competition.
Gunnedah South Public was among the top eight teams in NSW, competing in both girls and boys divisions.
Gunnedah South Public was a little unlucky in its first match last week, losing 7-5 to Harbord Public.
The next opponent was a very experienced and well-structured South Wagga line-up, which won 10-2.
“All the boys played to the very best of their ability and should be extremely proud of their efforts,” Gunnedah’s Louise Martin said.
Thanks were given to the following: Natasha Fisher for coaching; the parents who came on the trip to lend their support; and to the women’s representative sides for training against the boys in the lead-up to last week.
