The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are notably the highest profile of the British Military Concert Bands and will be accompanied by Military and Ceilidh Bands.
Every year they are featured in the World Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which is televised worldwide to 45 million people and they are constantly in demand for international competitions, concerts and parades.
Manager Entertainment Venues, Peter Ross, said, “It’s a thrill to have the internationally renowned Dragoon Guards coming to Tamworth. It’s their only concert across the New England and North West.”
Their most famous piece is Amazing Grace, which reached number one in the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. The concert will feature Amazing Grace, Braveheart Trilogy, Titanic (theme), Last of the Mohicans (theme), Soldier Soldier (theme) and many more.
This spectacular concert will give audiences a whole new experience in classic pipe tunes along with some modern arrangements and a rare insight into the talent and stature of one of the greatest Scottish bands of all time.
Tamworth and the region has a rich Scottish ancestry and this spectacle has shown wide appeal having booked steadily since the show was announced.
There are still tickets available to this outstanding performance, one not to missed at TRECC this Saturday night.
Much excitement ensues, as the cast and crew of Tamworth Musical Society’s production of Wicked opens it’s season at Capitol Theatre tomorrow night.
If you have ever wondered what happened in Oz before Dorothy dropped in, come along and support this outstanding local production of the Broadway blockbuster showing from October 28 to November 12.
The story, a vivid re-imagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, Wicked spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous (or infamous) characters, namely the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The show follows green-skinned star Elphaba from birth to college and through the life-changing events which eventually label her “wicked,” introducing spoiled rich girl Glinda, local prince and heartthrob Fiyero and even the Wizard of Oz himself. Wicked effortlessly reveals that there are indeed two sides to every story.
Tickets for all these and more, available online at entertainmentvenues.com.au, by phone on 6767 5300 or in person at Capitol Theatre Box Office, Ray Walsh House or the Golden Guitar.
