Rain in the lead-up prompted the contest to be moved from the turf pitch at McCosker Oval to the synthetic pitch at Brooks Oval, and not surprisingly the outfield was slow.
Inverell was in trouble with the loss of two early wickets, before a third wicket stand of 109 and an unbroken 72-run eighth wicket partnership lifted the hosts to 7-248 from their 50 overs.
Sage Cook made 61, Tom Scoble 44 and Kenny 34 before Tasker (41 not out) hit out in the late stages, with 22 runs coming from the final over.
Tasker promptly took three wickets in the first over of Narrabri’s innings without a run scored, and he finished with 4-4 from five overs while Kenny snared 5-9 from just three overs.
The shell-shocked visitors were all out in less than 16 overs.
