In a mixed bag of weekend weather forecasts, the Tamworth district is expected to receive between ten and 20 millimetres of rain on Saturday and the chances are high; at 90 per cent.
However, there’s some good news for locals wanting to make the most of their weekend with mostly sunny conditions forecast for Sunday and a top of 19 degrees expected.
There’s no rain in sight until Thursday, with an 80 per cent chance of between one and five millimetres predicted.
As of Friday afternoon, the NSW Water website had Chaffey Dam listed at 98 per cent capacity .
Once the dam hits 100, the dam’s morning-glory spillway will come into play, running water down the Peel River, less than six months after the $46 million expansion of the dam was completed.
A spokesperson for Water NSW said Chaffey cracking its historic century would depend on run-off into the dam.
