On Friday, Emergency Services Minister David Elliott met with local volunteers and presented the keys to two new fire trucks for the Bendemeer and Manilla rural fire brigades, worth around $300,000 each, to replace older and outdated vehicles.
The minister, together with Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson, also handed over a new flood rescue boat and a $5,000 NSW Government discretionary grant.
NSW RFS senior assistant commissioner Bruce McDonald and SES assistant commissioner Greg Newton were also on hand for the presentation.
Mr Anderson it was important to make sure local volunteers had the best tools to keep the community safe.
