Association president Derek Schoen will speak at the October 18 event on water management and the Murray Darling basin plan.
Branch chairman Kevin Tongue said the dinner followed the branch’s recent information workshop on water management policy.
Mr Tongue said the management of water after it hit the ground was a real issue for local farmers.
“The price we pay for water locally is too high and does not reflect the costs of managing it, and allocation cutbacks in nearby districts is a concern for us,” Mr Tongue said.
“We invite all farmers to come along and meet Derek and voice their concerns about water management issues and other local issues.”
The dinner will be held on October 18 at Joe McGuire’s Pub.
