Cr Hope replaces Col Murray, mayor of Tamworth Regional Council, who held the position of JO chairperson for the past five years. Cr Redding replaces former Conrad Bolton, who did not stand for re-election at Narrabri.
Cr Hope was recently elected mayor of Liverpool Plains for the next two years and will hold the position of JO chair for the same period.
Cr Hope was first elected to Liverpool Plains Shire Council in September 2012 and served the last two years as Mayor.
Under the rules of the Namoi JO, all board members must be the mayor of their respective councils, making up a regional board to drive economic growth and development opportunities that benefit the region.
Cr Hope said new legislation to set up JOs as a key feature of the Fit For the Future will provide member councils with the ability to be a major player in regional planning and priority setting, directly alongside the state government.
