Culture Club and Barry Gibb are bringing their greatest hits to Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley in what promises to be a long – and smoking hot – summer of live music in the vineyards.

Hope Estate hosts the inaugural Rock Symphony in the Vines on October 15 featuring the songs of David Bowie and The Australian Symphony Orchestra. This is followed by Hope Rocks on November 26 headlined by Baby Animals and starring The Screaming Jets, Ian Moss, Richard Clapton, Dragon and Choirboys.
Culture Club will perform for Hunter Valley fans on December 10, supported by Kids In The Kitchen, Real Life, Wa Wa Nee, 1927 and Pseudo Echo.
Then, on February 18, Bruce Springsteen returns to Hope Estate, followed by Barry Gibb on April 8.
Hope Estate owner and music-lover Michael Hope couldn’t be happier.
“I was blown away when the opportunity came about to host Culture Club, I was like wow,” he told the Newcastle Herald.
“That’s our perfect market, you see, our demographic. Music of the ’80s is as popular as ever – it takes us back to those happy, carefree times in our lives.”
The original Culture Club line-up – singer Boy George, guitarist/keyboardist Roy Hay, bassist Mikey Craig and drummer Jon Moss – will be joined by extra percussionists, keyboard players, backing singers and a horn section.
Culture Club has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and scored three top 10 hits in the US – the first group to hit that milestone since The Beatles. Their hits include The War Song, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon and I’ll Tumble 4 Ya.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on October 19 through Ticketmaster.
As for Barry Gibb, he and his brothers Maurice and Robin, formed one of the most successful bands ever. The Bee Gees. The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997, have won nine Grammy awards and are the biggest record sellers in Australian music history, with more than 220 million worldwide sales.
Gibb is regarded as one of the most prolific singer/songwriter/producers of the modern era. He is bringing his In The Now 2017 Tour to Hope Estate on April 8, 2017. Tickets will go on sale at 2pm on Monday, October 17.
Bimbadgen Estate has also locked in a stellar line-up of musical talent in the coming months, including Rodriguez, Garbage, The Temper Trap, Simple Minds, The B-52s, You Am I, The Models and Something For Kate. And Roche Estate just hosted Opera In the Vines and has scored Icehouse, Daryl Braithwaite and James Reyne for its March 25, 2017, Red Hot Summer Tour.
