The Tamworth festival regular has released ‘F U Cancer’, a charity single written with fellow country artists Beccy Cole and Lyn Bowtell with the proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.
Conceived during her ‘F U Cancer Shows’, the catchy upbeat tune with a simple message features well known artists including Kasey Chambers, Beccy Cole, Lyn Bowtell, Josh Pyke, Wes Carr and Wendy Matthews.
"After a crazy year last year of battling and surviving Breast Cancer I was overwhelmed with the love and support I received from my friends and peers,” Britt said.
“Last year I held a series of concerts around Australia called “F U Cancer Tour” With the help of my friends in the industry and the fans who came along to the shows we raised over $10,000.00 for the McGrath Foundation.
"Beccy Cole and Lyn Bowtell came to me while we were performing in Tamworth with this song idea and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.”
At the tender age of 30 and just two weeks after the launch of her Boneshaker album, the award winning artist was diagnosed with stage 2A breast cancer and underwent 12 months of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
