Tamworth Regional Council is inviting all dogs great and small to an event bound to send tails wagging this month and there’s a little bit of cheeky competition too.
Hundreds of our four legged furry friends are expected to attend the annual Gala Day for Dogs at Bicentennial Park on Sunday, October 9.
With a dog parade one of the main attractions to kick off the big event, it doesn’t stop there, there’s also seven categories with the spot for top dog up for grabs including best dressed dog, best owner/dog lookalike and most vocal dog and owner.
Ross Briggs, Council regulatory services manager said the event is a great chance for animal lovers to bring their pets down to the park, and enjoy a fun day out with plenty of entertainment and fun activities for all ages.
“Events throughout the day will include raffles, stalls, live music, a dog agility course and of course, the famous dog parade,” he said.
Mr Briggs said there was also an opportunity for those looking for a new furry family member.
“Local rescue organisations will be present, with some lovely dogs that are looking for their forever home,” he sad.
“So whether you already have a dog, or if you are thinking about getting one, we encourage you to come down and speak to some of the experts who are happy to help with dog training tips and advice on the best breed for your lifestyle.”
The Gala Day is on from 10am – 1pm.
