More than $20,000 in prizes will be on offer as competitors come from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
Opens, men’s, women’s, veterans and juniors divisions will be staged as competitors range from 12 to 80 years of age.
Some of the competitors have taken part in this annual event many times before, including NSW and Australian champions.
Peter Kay, Andrew Garvie, Steve Atkins and Daniel Baskerville are likely to be among the leading candidates for top spots, while Matthew Duncan will be among the locals hoping for a share of the prizes. Another member of Gunnedah Sporting Clays, Helen Overton, is likely to be among the strong contenders in the women’s division on the back of a few years of impressive results from meetings around the state. Proceedings are likely to go from 9am to 3pm.
