But on Sunday, scores of locals dressed in pink and, not letting the onslaught of rain dampen spirits, hit the road for the Pink Ribbon Bike Ride.
The ride kicked off from The Pub and made its way through the city all in the name of cancer research.
Men, women and children dressed up in pink costumes as bikes were adorned with pink bras and toys.
Live entertainment by Latch and prizes for best-dressed rider and bike ensured the fundraising mission was a success.
Among the auction items that went under the mallet was a framed Bulldogs jersey.
All of the money raised from the $15 entry fees and the giant raffle went directly to the Cancer Council.
Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon campaign aims to raise awareness about breast and gynaecological cancers, as well as raise funds for prevention programs, support services and vital cancer research. About 50 women are diagnosed with breast or a gynaecological cancer in Australia every day.
