The Matthew Cox Memorial Sidecar Trophy Race and the Jack Bond Cup will not only draw the biggest field but also the best field to a sidecar meeting ever seen as these handlebar heroes hold it wide open around the dirt track oval.
The Matthew Cox Memorial Trophy will be the very first race of the weekend and will see Dad, Glenn Cox, in the same race as his other four sons, all racing for his late sons trophy. Mum, Sandy doesn't miss out either, she will be the start and finish marshal for the race on an emotional night for the family.
Following that heart starter a combined 60 high speed sidecars have been listed to race in the Tamworth double header of the Straight Edge Painting East Coast Sidecar Roundup.
“The record books will open for both of these prestigious events and will write the competitors up into the pages of history,” Tamworth Motorcycle Club president Paul Slade said. “The enthusiasm from the three wheeled dirt track racers is a sure indication that they are fired up and keen to put on a sidecar show like no other.”
The official program will be packed with continuous races starting at 5.45pm both nights.
