Members of the rugby league community in the Tamworth region are being invited, to raise funds to help care for the men, women and children of the rugby league community.
In the past few years, the foundation has supported former players and coaches from this region as they dealt with cancer, leg amputations, dementia and even recovery from a truck accident.
The dinner is being held at 6.30pm on October 29 by the Men of League Foundation’s North West NSW Committee.
It will be held at South Tamworth Bowling Club with well-known bush poet Murray Hartin to entertain.
The foundation’s NSW manager Stuart Raper said it was sure to be an entertaining night for anyone who loved league and laughs.
“The North West committee always hosts great events in the Tamworth and New England region, and this night will be no different,” he said.
“Murray Hartin is a great entertainer and remains a much-loved bush poet across Australia.”
Mr Raper said organisers hoped “to see a great crowd there”.
“Funds raised from the night go to helping the Men of League Foundation to care for those from within the rugby league community who may have fallen on hard times and need some assistance.”
* The dinner is $45 for a carvery dinner and sweets. Bookings essential on 6765 5766.
