The group held their signs, encouraged Moree residents to sign a petition and take a pamphlet to better understand the happenings.
Falun Dafa Association president Dr Lucy Zhao said the tour targeted about 100 cities and country towns throughout New South Wales and Queensland.
"We realise that most Australians know little about Falun Gong and the tragic situation in China.
“We hope that the car tour, which will drive through of over 100 cities, will help fellow-Australians know more about what is going on in China today," she said.
Among the group was Tony Liu who was arrested by Chinese police in 2007 because he practiced Falun Dafa in August 1997.
”I was kidnapped by the police and sent back to Yishui county of Shandong Province, when I went to Beijing to appeal against the crackdown of Falun Dafa. I was then confined and experienced a local brainwashing persecution for nearly a month.
“I was forced by the police to watch the TV programs and read newspaper that slander Falun Dafa, and the police also coerced our family members and relatives to force us give up our beliefs.
“Later I was sentenced with labor camp for two years and transferred to the Beijing Tuanhe Dispatch Center. During the following three months, I had been kept in a small cell with harsh monitoring.”
Tony said he was mentally and physically abused and brainwashed. He also told of shocking torturous memories carried out by police and fellow prisoners.
Due to increased media attention, Tony was released and a short time later arrived in Australia on a mission to open eyes.
More than 20,000 postcards signed by Australian people are set to arrive in the Prime Minister’s office in Canberra by then end of the year.
