It is reported the accident occurred on a property about 25 km east of Walcha.
The man received a deep laceration above the left eye from a chainsaw accident.
BREAKING: A 27-year-old man is being airlifted to hospital after a serious chainsaw accident to his face.
The Newcastle Westpac Rescue Helicopter is currently tasked to the Walcha area to transfer the man, who suffered facial lacerations from a chainsaw accident.

The Tamworth Westpac Rescue Helicopter is flying a clinical team to Inverell Hospital to assist with the patient, who will then be flown to Sydney by Royal Flying Doctor Service.
