A MAN remained on life support in hospital early last night after suffering a head injury in Armidale on Monday night.
Late yesterday, investigators were hoping test results would reveal how the man sustained the injury at an Armidale unit complex.
The 34-year-old was transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney yesterday afternoon after he was found lying motionless in a car park of the Niagara St complex.
Police said they came across the man about 10pm, suffering an “obvious head injury” and showing no signs of life.
He was taken to Armidale Hospital and placed on life support.
Late yesterday police officials confirmed the man’s condition had not changed.
Inquiries by police at the scene on Monday night had revealed the man was drinking with other people at a nearby unit.
Police have since spoken to residents of nearby homes seeking witnesses and a crime scene was established at the car park.
After being left under police guard overnight, forensics officers examined the scene yesterday.
Officers would not confirm if any evidence was found in the examination but said the circumstances surrounding the man’s critical injuries was still unclear.
Police are appealing to anyone with information about unusual or suspicious activity in the area to come forward and contact Armidale Police or Crime Stoppers.
