Youngsters going ahead in leaps and bounds

YOUNG athletes from across the region attended the ninth annual North West Athletics Super Clinic in Tamworth on the weekend. Around 40 young athletes and some 12 coaches  attended the two-day clinic at the Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre.

Little Athletics NSW coach Alvin Umadhay was one of the top-level coaches to attend, NSW Sport and Recreation spokeswoman Gaylene Ryan said .

She said athletes from 8 to 16 were given the opportunity to build on  their existing skills and develop new abilities.

“You never know – the next Sally Pearson or Mitchell Watt may start their journey at this weekend,” she said.
