This year NIAS will be offering spots up in 11 different sports as well as the Lonestar program which covers a range of individual sports.
Sports include AFL, basketball, rugby, rugby sevens, rugby league, football, golf, hockey, mountain biking, netball and tennis, with the program running for 12 months from November and peaking with the Academy Games mid next year.
NIAS chief James Cooper is also appealing for nominations for any enthusiastic and motivated coaches across all sports.
“Sporting programs will consist of skill development sessions and camps,” Cooper said.
“The program follows a structured approach concentrating on a range of individual skills and development.”
