This is the second LOUD Fence that has been erected in Armidale, the first was destroyed by an unknown person who cut the ribbons and left them discarded on the footpath.

The No More Silence banner was also burned.

Event organiser Alison Armstrong said that regardless of these acts, the group will not be silenced.

“Each expression of opposition has strengthened our resolve, more people have joined our campaign, donated ribbons, sent letters and shared Facebook posts.

“Our voices have become stronger, louder and more united,” she said.

Survivor of childhood sexual abuse Robyn Knight shared her story and pleaded with the community to speak up about the issue.

“Whenever one person stands up it helps others do the same.

“As one victim speaks up and achieves justice as I did, this gives strength to others,” she said.
