In the early hours of Tuesday, offenders gained access into a classroom at Peel High School, off Gunnedah Rd.
Once inside, thieves stole four computers, a computer hard drive and $250 in cash from a charity collection tin.
The goods have an estimated value of almost $4000.
Police believe offenders gained entry to the classroom through an unlocked door which was left open by a student.
While on school grounds, offenders also broke four trees in the Peel Wetlands.
Meanwhile, sometime after 2am on Monday, thieves broke into a science classroom at Tamworth High School.
The forced entry activated an internal alarm and security were called along with police.
There was no sign of the offenders when police arrived but staff discovered three laptops missing from the room.
Anyone with information on the location of the stolen goods or who might have seen suspicious activity at the time is being urged to contact Tamworth police.
