It was a tight and fluctuating tussle.
“It could have gone either way until about 15 to go. The boys just ran away with it,” Tigers coach Anthony Hammond said.
The Roos had led by two at half-time.
“We had a bit of a yarn at half-time and everyone picked up,” Hammond said.
“Defensively we were getting off the line and holding them down and trying to slow things down. Walcha are a good team and if you let them get a roll-on they'll run all over you.”
He said it was a good win for them.
“We've been chasing this for a long time,” he said.
“It's been 25 years since Manilla has been in a grand final and to get a home grand final is great. I think the boys just wanted it a bit more. They played hard and they played really well.”
