Rather than a book and a CD that work together, they are separate entities, but allowed the singer-songwriter to express himself in two totally different ways.
“I don't know what made me do it, but I don't express myself best with words, so, I thought, in case I don't get my point across in the book, I've got my songs to help me express myself,” he said.
In the revealing book, fans will discover more about one of Australia's favourite musical artists than they've ever known and he celebrates the large part that Tamworth has played in his life and musical career.
“Being out there (Tamworth), and the first place I'd moved to since Grafton, there were a lot of champions in Tamworth, including Truckin' Stevens, Michael Roycroft and Steve Bunz, and they looked out for me,” he said.
“I wanted to thank them for it as well as Brian Young and Uncle Pete and Aunty Val; people I've cherished since the first day I've met them.”
Cassar-Daley described the city as “sacred ground”.
The idea for the book was also born in Tamworth and from a lunch with Joy McKean and her publisher.
With his 2017 Tamworth Country Music Festival show already on sale, Celebrating Australia’s Great Showmen & Women with Troy Cassar-Daley, his thoughts have turned to the year ahead.”
“I'm going to drag a whole bunch of people together,” he said.
“These are the pioneers. After losing Youngie, there are still a lot of pioneers around the industry and some are people I've toured with and some are the older generation.
It is important to look at what effects they've had on the industry, which is what I saw when we lost Youngie who had a massive influence on a lot of people.”
The show is on January 26 at 4pm at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre with early bird tickets now available.
