OXLEY Diggers are on target to win a third straight Group 4 league tag premiership after beating arch rivals North Tamworth in the major semi-final at Jack Woolaston Oval on Sunday.

While their opposition was familiar the result was a first for the Diggers, who in their two premierships were yet to win a major final.
The last two occasions Norths have beaten them in the major before Oxley turned the tables in the grand final, although this year the Diggers are on song, running in three tries to one to go straight through to the grand final to be played at the same ground in a fortnight.
The Bears will face Gunnedah next week after they accounted for Armidale 14-nil in the minor.
In the Second Division Shield Kootingal head into the grand final undefeated after beating Uralla 10-nil in the major, while Boggabri will face the Tigers after beating Creek.
In the Shield Walcha go straight through after beating Bendemeer18-4, while Barraba will play Bendy after thrashing Manilla 36-nil.
