The 2017 Good University Guide was released on Monday and the Armidale-based university has been awarded full marks for student experience and graduate outcomes.
The results for student experience ranks UNE within in the top 20 per cent of all Australian universities and is endorsed by top scores in the supporting categories of overall quality of educational experience, teaching quality, learner engagement, learning resources, and student support.
UNE Vice-Chancellor Professor Annabelle Duncan said the results were down to dedicated staff.
“We work hard to provide our students with the best possible learning environments regardless of their location,” she said.
“I specifically want to highlight the efforts of our various student support teams, including colleges, in providing both academic support and pastoral care to our students. Their efforts contributed significantly to our outstanding results.”
UNE achieved five stars in the graduate outcomes category which reflects employment outcomes for graduates as well as the median salary of graduates from different universities.
“As a university we are proud of our inclusiveness and are constantly reviewing the way we engage with students,” Professor Duncan said.
“Together with other Regional Universities Network (RUN) members we are working on projects to better understand, identify and address organisational, academic, environmental and social factors that can impact on students’ studies.” The data was sourced from the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) and is based on the results of the Student Experience Survey and Graduate Destination Survey respectively.
